PhotoBlogs
I hope this post will attract some attention both among members who want to make a photoblog, but do not know how to do it and maybe even the people at the myfinepix site who really need to do something about the posting of non-blogs. we arealso hopeful some regular contributors will also get onboard and try to exert some pressure with the powers that be to sort out this issue.
We have just gathered together the pictures for our 3rd and final part of our Kenya Blog and was about to start uploading it when we once again noticed the lead page of blogs is almost completely made up of single picture posts. This makes posting our blog almost pointless as it will no doubt get pushed off the front page and buried without anyone ever knowing its been posted.
We are not expecting hundreds of viewers and comments as a right, but like one or two others have mentioned it does take some time to put together and then upload these multi picture blogs and it would be nice if after making the effort at least the thing might get viewed, rather than buried under pictures that should be uploaded to the gallery.
SO FOR THE PEOPLE WHO REALLY DO WANT TO MAKE A PHOTOBLOG HERE IS THE LINK TO AN EXCELENT GUIDE

FOR MR FUJI WHY CANT YOU MAKE THE SITE REJECT THE UPLOADING OF EMPTY PHOYOBLOGS AND DELETE OFF ANY SINGLE IMAGE BLOGS.

I have about 400 pics to sort through from recent trip to Rainy devon and was going to do a blog.
But seems a waste of time as it takes longer to create then the airtime it gets due to single shotters.
Maybe we could have a UK Blog section as it seems to be worldwide users who fail to understand the unrest they cause by repeatedly posting a continuous stream of single shots.

Hi Dave
I posted this in the beginners forum in the hope it may be of interest to those wanting to blog, as well as to bemoan the current state of affairs.
You are in the same position as us with your Devon Pictures but to be honest I have been watching this since posting our last blog and the problem is with the site as most of the single blogs come from new accounts who fill the blog spot then disappear. I think somthing fishy is going on.

I agree with you dave/cesar which is why I will not add any more blogs until Fuji sort it out. It aint worth the effort !!!

I have to agree with all the comments on Photoblogs I did this at first but I soon changed and took of all the single pictures. If you dont know how to set up a photoblog do what I did and look at Angie step by step guide its very simple and when you have set your pictures to share you will find you will get great comments I did and I have not looked back.

I have now begun to look as far back as page 5 to find blogs that are worth reading. These may be only posted the day before yet have already been pushed back.
Multiple single photoblogs from the United States of America are appearing more and more frequently. It's about time that Fuji developed a North American site. There is a New Zealand site and new Zealand has a smaller population than Chicago?
Come on Mr Fuji, get off the fence about what a blog should be, introduce or change the name of the blog site to a 'Magazine' page and make it clear that only multiple photo articles are accepted.

Very unfortunate Dave and this does need sorting by Fuji.......at the very least it should only require a comment to bump it to the top like all the other forum threads. It is obvious that quite a few people put in a great deal of effort and time to create interest for all of us and this can so easily be negated by inconciderate members who think its OK to post a single picture which has little to say. I know that the rules allow it....but its high time that the rule was changed. We all have galleries and that's the place for individual pictures.
Thanks Dave for your series on Kenya as it has been fascinating and brings to each of us the chance to go on safari whether we can or not. Also thanks to all the other members who take the time to share experiences with us.

The problem being that on Mr Finepix 'help with' section it says, with specific reference to photoblogs:
"There is no restriction to how you use blogs - you might just post an image and treat it like a personal gallery, or you might use it for a traditional blog without posting images - it's up to you"
To me that actively encourages postings of one shot, or none at all! As a newbie who has put considerable effort in working out how to multi-photo blog, I also find the mono-shot blogs very disheartening. I've got ideas / shots for another 2 blogs (Manchester Gay Pride & a trip to Sweden / Stockholm), but am loathe to spend considerable time doing so, only to have them buried.

Hi Kaz
we didn't know that is what Fuji had to say on the matter (sounds pretty daft advice)
but we decided stuff it and did our next blog anyway! We hope you do your Manchester pride blog as we have not been there for years and would love to see how it looks now. The answer is to do as Steve advised and post a blog advert in the forums when you do one and that way even if they are buried people will be able to find it through the link. We were unsure about doing this but needs must as they say and it appears to have worked so far. It has even got our earlier blogs a few viewers.
Ultimately I am hopeful Fuji will change the programing so single pictures will go to the gallery rather than taking up blog slots but until then we hope people like us wont be put off.
We are off now to take a look at yours so please feel free to do likewise with ours.
all the best
