Westonbirt in its Autumn Clothes
Not a lot can be said about trees - they are there - and at this time of the year can be incredibly beautiful. Westonbirt Arboretum is now a venue for coach parties of old folk!!!! (plus Nigel) - going to see the glorious colours. When Nigel went a few weeks back I think the transformation had just begun. This week is probably going to be the best week - but it is half-term week and even last week when it wasn't, there were a lot of children there - some hope for our youngsters then, that they too can enjoy the beauty.
I too did enjoy the sheer beauty of nature.

Even an Hydrangea in its dying, creates a very beautiful spectacle.

And the colour showing in the acers is quite wonderful

I rather cheated with this photo, a family were about to take a photo of their baby on an acer and it made such a charming image - but you'll have to peep through the leaves.

An old Acer with such wonderful twisted branches.

The colours in one leaf become a little miracle.........

.........echoed in the broader vistas

And the height of some of the trees is only recognised in comparison to a man.

And the colour achieved by some seems quite impossible.

But occasionally shape and form are more important.

...or the colours in the berries.

But then a broader vista comes into view....

...and once again the array of colours is something to marvel at.
Hope you enjoy this - and I hope I have selected a variety of the amazing colours on offer.
Thanks for viewing.

Smashing Angie. Lovely colour. Not too keen on the black borders as it decreases the size of each fantastic photo.

Wonderful colours, well taken Angie. Not keen on the borders, would have preferred wider light ones. (Personal preference I guess) I like to shrink the picture to 80% and have a white border. A Black border also looks nice if there is a white stroke line around the picture.
I hope I can get back in my car before all the colours disappear.

A stunning collection of Autumnal beauty Angie, personally I like the black framing, it focusses the eye and accentuates the beauty and colour within. My favourites are the red acers, magnificent.
