Hi recently i posted a blog on Brighton from when we were on holiday at Hayling Island also while we were there we went to Southampton to see the Queen Mary2 and the Queen Elizabeth which were both in port together September 12th 2011

When we arrived we descorved that it was the boat show and we had trouble to park we managed to get on the jetty that over looks the ocean terminal and we saw the Costa Luminosa just going in to berth ,no small thing at 92,600tons,294mts long 32.3mts wide and with 11 decks speed 21.6 knots

Celebrity Eclipse 122,tons 314.80mts long 36.80 mts wide 17 decks speed 24 knottscould not get to close because of the boat show

Queen Elizabeth birthed behind the Eclipse 90,900 tons 964.5ft long 106ft wide speed 23.7 knotts

Queen Elizabeth getting ready to sail later on

Queen Mary 2 151,400 tons 1,132ft long 131ft wide speed 28knotts

Costa Luminosa with a old tug, lightship and the Waveraley in the for ground

Red funnel ferries redjet3 heading into Southampton terminal from the IOW

Calshot Castle after dinner we moved to calshot castle as you get better views and they are quite close to youalthough it was a beautifull day it was very windy and cold as we had got the back end of the storm in America

The Eclipse arrives just coming into view rounding the point

Eclipse again

I love to cruise, and have been to many places. So this is a fantastic blog for me. So lucky to have seen all these beautiful ships, they are wonderful. I have never seen the new Queen Elizabeth, what beauty. She is on my list of ships to go on one day. I went on the QE2 and loved that ship.
Thank you for putting this together, I have really enjoyed it, Pam

Really cool, the shot titled: Queen Elizabeth missed her coming round the head as i was in the car because i had got so cold had to rest camera on the roof to stop shake is my favorite, it really gives a sense of scale to that mammoth of a ship!

Dean

Hi Martin, I love this blog, I find it most interesting.
When we were docked in St Maartin, the Queen Elizabeth was there, but I was too sick to raise my head to look at her, I was so disappointed, and we were both in isolation in our cabin. Peter managed to take a photo through our cabin window!
These ships to me, are like gentle giants, they move so graciously, gliding in and out of ports, never a judder or jog, just so smooth.
Thank you so much for putting this blog together for us all to enjoy.
